My background
I have over 20 years of experience as a licensed psychologist. I've worked as a therapist, supervisor, educator, and administrator in multiple settings that include private practice, university mental health centers, and a large corporation. I use evidence-based treatment methods to strengthen coping skills in the present and heal the influence of the past.
My communication style
I'm down-to-earth and approachable as a therapist. I listen deeply and am comfortable with your grief, your anger, and your fear. I'll be an active guide in the work, and I will tell you what I think. You are always allowed to ask, "What are we doing and how will it help?"
My journey to becoming a provider
I have always been a sensitive person tuned into the feelings of others. After working as a journalist, I wanted to help people in a more personal way, so I earned my PhD in Psychology. Years into my career, I found a journal from 9th grade where I had written that I wanted to become a therapist. It was a roundabout path to exactly where I was meant to be.
